The most important grinding media ball - low chromium ball

Chromium can slowly dissolve in dilute hydrochloric acid and dilute sulfuric acid to form a blue solution. It quickly turns green in contact with air because it is oxidized to green Cr2O3 by oxygen in the air. However, chromium is not soluble in concentrated nitric acid and is passive because of the dense oxide film formed on the surface. At high temperatures, chromium can directly combine with halogens, sulfur, nitrogen, carbon, etc.

Manufacturing method of low chromium ball

Low chromium balls are produced by means of intermediate frequency electric furnace smelting, metal mold or sand casting, so domestic manufacturers of wear-resistant materials are often referred to as low chromium alloy casting balls. If the quality of the low chromium ball is guaranteed, it is recommended to use heat treatment tempering or vibration aging treatment. If the detected hardness (HRC) is lower than 40 degrees, it indicates that the low chromium ball has insufficient hardness or over-burning.

Application of low chromium balls

Low chromium balls are widely used in metallurgical mines, cement building materials, thermal power generation, flue gas desulfurization, aerated concrete, magnetic materials, chemicals, coal water slurry, pellets, slag, ultra-fine powder, fly ash, calcium carbonate, quartz sand and other industries.
